High Point

 

High point STAR awards shall be calculated and issued in each of IPSHR’s designated breed registry books.  
Deadline for year-end high point submission points is December 31 of the calendar year in which they are earned.

 

Calculating High Point

Performance and Suitability points shall be totaled using the IPSHR point system.  Points shall be awarded only for the year they are submitted to the STAR Awards Secretary.

Inspection points shall be awarded as follows: 
* Gold STAR = 20 points
* Silver STAR = 15 points
* Blue STAR = 10 points
* Red STAR = 5 points

Reproduction, Service, Trails, Associations, and Recreation STARs shall be considered cumulative in nature.  Points shall be awarded as follows:
* First STAR earned in a year = 10 points.
* Second STAR earned in a year = 20 points.
* Third STAR earned in a given give = 30 points.

Example:  A horse earning two red stars in Service and Associations in a single year shall get 10 points for the Service STAR and 20 points for the Associations STAR to total 30 points.

Example : A horse earning a red STAR and a blue STAR in a single category shall get 10 points for the red STAR and 20 points for the blue STAR to total 30 points.

High Point points shall be calculated as folllows.  A horse shall receive one point for each year that he or she has appeared on the top ten list.  The horse’s numeric position on any previous top ten list shall be irrelevant to the calculation except in the event of a tie.  If a tie should occur, then the horse which has the highest average of top ten placings shall be placed first.
