STAR Program
IPSHR is a performance based registry which recognizes, celebrates, and awards merit to patterned horses which are excelling in the worlds of open and breed based sport competitions. The STAR program is a four-level program which gives horses the opportunity not only to receive recognition in a given area but to build upon that recognition and advance within each division. STAR Awards are given in each of the following divisions: ______________________________________________________________
INSPECTION Division STARs shall be awarded to those horses which submit to the internationally accepted practice of inspection by one of the internationally recognized Sport Horse registries.
PERFORMANCE Division STARs shall be awarded to those horses which participate and excel in the areas of
* Dressage
* Hunter or Jumper
* Eventing
* Driving
* Reining
SUITABILITY Division STARs shall be awarded to those horses which participate and excel in the area of in-hand suitability.
HIGH-POINT Division STARs shall be awarded to those horses which are in the top ten of all STAR Award Program horses for a given year.
REPRODUCTION Division STARs shall be awarded to those horses which have produced progeny that are registered with IPSHR and enrolled in the STAR Award Program.
SERVICE Division STARs shall be awarded to those horses which participate in community activities (parades, clinics, expos, etc.) as ambassadors for both IPSHR and the Patterned Horse.
TRAIL Division STARs shall be awarded to those horses which participate and excel in the area of competitive trail, endurance, and distance riding.
ASSOCIATIONS Division STARs shall be awarded to those horses which are concurrently enrolled in both IPSHR and other breed or equine activity organizations and which participate in activities hosted by those organizations.
RECREATION Division STARs shall be awarded to those horses which participate with their owners or riders in activites of a purely recreational nature — trail riding, camping, riding lessons, etc.
